JNVKAA has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE), on the website, in the JNVKAA app and in every chat, story, comment and photo shared on them.
1. Who this applies to
These standards apply to everyone who uses the JNVKAA website and the JNVKAA Android app, published by the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Krishna Alumni Association. The portal is for alumni, who are adults by the time they pass out. Chat is open only to verified, active members aged 18 or older, and each member confirms their age before joining a room.
2. What is never allowed
- child sexual abuse material (CSAM) of any kind, including drawn, edited, morphed or AI-generated images;
- sexualising a child in words, images or video;
- grooming, or contacting a child for a sexual purpose;
- sextortion, or threatening to share intimate images of a child;
- trafficking, or any content that promotes the abuse or exploitation of a child;
- sharing, asking for, or linking to any of the above.
Breaking these rules leads to immediate removal of the content, suspension of the account and a report to the authorities. See also our Community Guidelines.
3. How to report a concern
- In the app or on the website: press and hold (or right-click) a chat message and choose Report, then pick Child safety. Stories and comments have a Report link too.
- Anyone, member or not: use the complaint form and choose “Child sexual abuse material or harm to a child”, or write to [email protected].
- Police and national helplines: report online at cybercrime.gov.in or call 1930. If a child is in immediate danger, call 112. Childline is 1098.
If you come across this material, don't forward, screenshot or download it: doing so can itself be a crime. Just tell us where it is.
4. What we do when something is reported
- A chat message reported for child safety is hidden from the room at once, before anyone reviews it.
- The evidence is preserved under a legal hold and the original files are removed from the room. Only our designated Safety Lead can see a child-safety report, and the images are never shown to other moderators.
- We act on every child-safety report within 2 hours, suspend the accounts involved, and report the material to the police and the national authorities as Indian law requires.
- We cooperate fully with law-enforcement requests made through the proper legal process.
5. The law we follow
We comply with the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012, the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the IT (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021, and with Google Play's child safety standards policy.
6. Child safety contact
Our designated point of contact for child safety, and for how we prevent child sexual abuse material, can be reached at [email protected]. You can also contact our Grievance Officer.
